Mission & Values

Mission

Kansas City Public Theatre provides access to the arts through year-round theatre entertainment free of charge to the public. This mission is carried out in two activities: first, by producing aesthetically and ideologically diverse new works and reimagined classics that reflect the unique history and concerns of the Kansas City community; and second, to cultivate civic-minded artists, audiences, and citizens through community-based devised theatre workshops.

Vision

Kansas City Public Theatre is committed to Radical Hospitality, breaking down the barriers that prevent people in the Kansas City community from experiencing professional performing arts.  KCPublic fosters intercultural exchange and imaginative storytelling experiences that reflect and enrich the Kansas City community, making the arts a vital and accessible part of everyday life. Through free theatre performances, workshops, and events, we bring the arts to all corners of Kansas City.
